So Casey, linde and I decided that we would be cool and give up sweets for lent. its going to be really crappy, but our contract is as follows:
"I, Eryn Manning, Promise to refrain from eating any kind of candy* from February 25th to April 11th of 2009. If i do break this promise, i swear that i will not take a shower for the rest ot the school week, startgin on the day i break my promise. Friday is no exception, if i decided to break my vow on a friday, i will not be able to shower for the rest of the weekend.
*candy bars, bagged candy, chocolaty sweets, ice cream, and cookies."
Ohhh man. its going to be hard, but i think i can stick to it. Linde on the other hand.....we'll see haha. Also! We bought a tv and a dvd palyer for our living room. We so love being able to sit in our living room and watch tv together! It feels like we are a cute little family hahaha.

girls weekend.
so this weekend Linde and I decided to drive down to Casey's house in Salt Lake to have a girls weekend. we drove down saturday and we got there so fast hahaha. it normally takes two hours and we got there in an hour 
and thirty minutes haha. linde drives like a maniac. but we made it. on the way there, linde and i were talking about some tattoo ideas. we want to get some sort of friendship tattoo. like a chinese symbol for friendship er something. im excited! so yeah, when we got to salt lake we went shopping at forever 21. i loooove love love that store! we tried on 
some sexy dresses hahaha it was really fun. i got some cute jewelery! So after shopping we went and got pizza and headed to Caseys house where we proceeded to meet a million of her friends she w
ent to school with. chris, brady, justin, matt, dj, hillary, some guy that fell asleep on the couch, some other guy that came for two seconds and then left again, a girl that didn't say her name loud enough to me so i can't remember it, and derek. i talked to christian too which was nice. we danced and got in the hot tub and ate a million slices of pizza and oreos. it was way fun. i think we ended up going to bed at 5? ha. so this morning we got up and went to eat at denny's. that place was the most ghetto dennys i've ever been in. wow. my waffle was awful too. very disappointed. before we left to go back to Poky, we stopped at a Big K to look for some sun glasses. we didn't find any but linde and i took some sweet film stip pictures. too fun. so linde and i drove home. sooo tired. we had to stop and get red bulls to stay awake haha. but we made it back and watched movies and just hung out. twas a good weekend, i had a lot of fun!

Speech Adventures.
Im currently enrolled in a speech 101 class and really, the class its self is not that bad. Of course at the beginning of the semester i was picked to give the first speech of the year. i hate being the first of the first, but it's totally my luck. anyway, like i said, the class is not that bad. im not really uncomfortable talking in front of people so no big deal. but the people in my class drive me nuts! there are four people in particular i just want to yell at. exhibit a:
I call him "Jerky Slab Guy." Every stinken day, this middle-aged man comes into class with some sort of silly hat that almost completely covers his eyes, a cup the size of a small child (undoubtedly filled with mountain dew), and a foot-long slab of some kind of jerky. now, keep in mind, im not one to judge so please eat and enjoy your gigantic piece of mystery jerky, but really? why do you bring it to speech class? I sit quite close to this man and i can smell the jerky and it makes me want to vomit. one more thing about this man, he deep-throat sniffs. and the combination of pungent jerky and trying to completely clear your nasal passage is going to make me pass out one of these days. no bueno. exhitbit b:
The mushy couple. I honestly think they make it their goal in life to show everyone how much they love each other. The first stinken day of class they told everyone they were engaged! i mean..congrats but why did you tell all of us? I've never seen them not touching. And they kiss each others ears. and talk the whole time and whisper and giggle. uUUUGGHHhhGHHHhh. im happy for them but i really don't want to see people all lovey in class. thats what rooms are for. ew. and finally exhibit c:
The man, Joseph Spanbauer. He has such a deep deep low voice that kinda scares me. I catch him looking at me all the time and its really funny to see how he reacts. he's just a silly guy. that's all i can say.

Maneater
Interesting day 
haha... Apparently this weekend i forgot to shut off my alarm clock so naturally, my special roommate linde went to go shut it off one morning. and the beeping did not stop she she claims to have "pushed a few buttons and took the battery's out." yeah, no. that thing looked like it had been thrown at the wall a few times and flushed down the toilet. so anyway, this morning i slept through my first class because my alarm didn't go off LINDEEE! so i missed my first class (math) which im not totally bummed about but i still needed to go. and theeeen i forgot i had an essay due in one hour and i TOTALLY wrote
a 1,250 word essay in 45 minutes. im so impressed with myself hahahahahha. Today was silly. Linde and I cleaned our fishies tanks. Finwick hates me i swear. We don't have nets so we have to get them out of their tanks with our hands. i can't do it, it creeps me out. so i make linde do it and finwick FREAKS OUT! but wow the tanks needed to be cleaned soooo bad. they stunk! Lindes fish, evon the II is a weirdie too. When you put him (yes him. he's gay haha) back in his bowl h
e starts to act like a spaz. Finwick and Evon hate each other haha. I also filled out a scholarship today and went to turn it in. hopefully i get the money. yikes...im running out fast. its no bueno. it snowing so hard today. i really really really hate snow wow. oh yeah! i got some really sweet belated valentines texts today. they are cute haha. The lettuce one is my favorite. anyway. today was fun. back to school and such. We wen
t to go watch our boys cody, sean and shane play intermural basketball. Linde and I are their unofficial cheerleaders. i seriously have no idea how to keep score or pretty much whats going on, but its fun to make up team names (like cody, sean and shanes team was the hornets because they were yellow, and the other team was the lady bugs because they were red hahahhaha) and act like we know what we're cheering for hahaha. It was fun and of course they won!
After the game linde and i came back to our room and talked about all the stinken good times we've had together. i wuv my winde :] p.s. she totally slipped on the ice on the way to the game and landed on her back. i've never laughed so hard in my life!!! HAHA

Time of My life
At this point in my life, I'm worried that if i don't write down the good times that i have, I'll eventually forget them. And right now, my life has just been silly. So it's a good thing that i found something other than myspace or facebook to write down my life on.
College life is so interesting and different from how i had imagined. I mean, i feel like a real adult. I'm on my own with my best friends and im practically free to do what i want. with the exception of having close to no money. But who needs money to have fun right? It's good th
at movies on campus are free because i would have spent a million dollars already just watching movies. haha.
About being practically free, this weekend was a prime example of what you can do when you're an adult. I totally went on a valentines day road trip. My buddy Aaron and I drove up friday night all the way to Spanaway, Washington. Holy crap talk about a long drive. Close to 13 hours i would say. But we made it and i met his friends Raymond and Soloman (coolest guys). Saturday we hung around and didn't do a whole lot. We drove to the University of Puget Sound to meet up with some more friends. Aaron took me out to dinner at The Rock Pizza. We actually drove around for 45 mi
nutes to find somewhere to eat, and really, there was noooothing! While we were eating i made some cool valentines day hearts on my plate. They were made out of marinara sauce and ranch dressing. They were pretty cute if you ask me. :] It was really good pizza too. We got the one called "California Dream" and it was white sauce pizza with pesto and sun-dried tomatoes. Soooo tasy! We also got these gigantic cups and i honestly didn't think i could drink all of my strawberry lemonade. I had a lot of fun that night. Sunday we went into Seattle to see my cousin. But really, we got soooooo lost and ended up on Bainbridge Island (which is an island outside of Seattle). It was really fun though. I got to see my aunt and my cousin and 
we got to ride the ferry into Seattle (which Aaron and Raymond had never done before). So we made it into the city and i got to hang out with my cousin Carly and we ate some killer fish and chips. soooooooo goood! and i even got a sweet picture in front o
f the Space needle hahaha. After Seattle we drove allllll the way back to Spokane and woke up this morning and drove back to Poky. It was such a long day. But a really fun trip. Im glad i went. Too much fun :] Just one of the many things i've done while being my own person. I love having the freedom. But i do miss my mom and step dad and brothers. It's rough not being home with them. But really, i look at this part in my life as a chance to find out who i am. I think im doing a pretty good job at that right now. I'm trying to live life to the fullest and not let anything get me down. It happens sometimes, but its all good :]
